How Do I Shade Something Without It Looking Scratchy?

i'm left handed, whenever want shade when i'm drawing pencil, use wrist to, ever slightly, smear , use light pressure on pencil when i'm drawing whatever is. areas need more attention others when comes shading , can use toilet paper wrapped around thumb or index finger create shading.
hey, takes time. luck!

i wondering how make not scratchy when shade dark. want sort of smooth. please don't tell me smudge because i've done darkly smudging nothing. tecniques or something?
