Should I have a pension ?

have part time weekend job , in second year @ university. make £500 month. according pension funds, if pay 10% (£50) month, company double , money government means pay less £50. there different types of funds available, easiest being 'target fund' investment company moves money based on age. there index trackers , other equities/funds.
can advise better long time investment. ( understand cannot foresee future). 1. index tracker ( ftse -all -share ) , uk equity index fund, emerging market multi asset fund, dynamic diversified beta or should settle target funds or wait till full time job? company runs pension funds called alliance benstein , charges amc low 0.2225%

thank you.
