Ice skating falls.. Pain?

went ice skating recently, , fell down lots while learning toe-loop , loop.
why falls not hurt @ all, while others hurt much?
knees have huge blue bruises on them, fell while doing outside spread eagle , waltz.
sometimes, falling on bottom painful too, isn't. why? practicing same thing when fell.
