I'm socially awkward, Any advice?

i'm shy around people new me , cannot make conversation. shy when little ever talked parents , sisters.
hold quite well, friends don't see me shy because i'm okay around them , come across sarcastic in front of friends when it's new shy , have no confidence.
confidence holds me lot!! don't want apply job because i'm awkward person @ minute i'm in sixth form , find awkward talk teacher how mate (make jokes).
words muddled because i'm nervous , sweaty hands!!

reason more shy around elder guys! can talk them go red in face , it's embarrassing me. when young went speech therapy appointment , couldn't me speak them never went again.

please give me advice? , no don't have problems @ home or friends.

have part time weekend job , in second year @ university. make £500 month. according pension funds, if pay 10% (£50) month, company double , money government means pay less £50. there different types of funds available, easiest being 'target fund' investment company moves money based on age. there index trackers , other equities/funds. can advise better long time investment.
