How do you delete google search history on google chrome?

while chrome open hit cntr + h
open history page
click on "clear browsing data..."
screen pop asking want clear,
there drop down tab after "obliterate following items from:
pick "the beginning of time"

bet clearing past hour's worth of history

i search lot of stuff on google , when stuff isn't relevant pops out gets annoying. ive tried lot of stuff going account , deleting google search web history still comes out , when press remove gets off later backs on
