Is it ok to have a low watt heat mat without a thermostat (corn snake)?

no, not.
not @ all...

unstatted heat mats, regardless of size, can reach dangerous temperatures.
own experience , experimentation, 4w heat mat got hot enough melt plastic container within 2 hours... larger wattage mats longer heat up.

pet owner, responsibility make sure pets kept safe possible.
putting snakes live @ risk sake of £20 or idiotic...

making sure temperatures dont dangerous levels , keeping them steady, thermostats control energy used heat mat, potentially cutting power bills.

is ok have low watt heat mat without thermostat carolina corn snake. baby , house relativley cold.
