note new american buildings in fact 240 volts split in 2 120 between neutral , hot wire. major appliances, such virtually drying machines , ovens, connected 240 volts. mind, if have american 60hz equipment shouldn't connect indian 50hz outlets. although may work on appliances adapter, not case hdtv.
