Why does dubai attract migrant workers?

dubai , uae in general (same applies oil rich gulf countries) attract migrant workers numerous reasons. may escape starving death @ home, seeing better job perspective @ home or being offered attractive taxfree salary + additional benefits.

dpends worker/employee , profession/experience he/she got offer. gulf countries depend on foreign workforce , want benefit a) "cheap" foreign workforce or b) western gained experience.

i studying level geography, , need find out why dubai attracts migrant workers. please help!!!

have part time weekend job , in second year @ university. make £500 month. according pension funds, if pay 10% (£50) month, company double , money government means pay less £50. there different types of funds available, easiest being 'target fund' investment company moves money based on age. there index trackers , other equities/funds. can advise better long time investment.
