Ipad 2 not charging!!! : ( Please help!!!?

hello, ipad has not been charging recently. here problems;

~ can charge 1%, , takes incredibly long time : (
~ have had charger bearly year. (after replacing original apple one)
~ have tried connect computer, , although computer picks plugged in, cant recognise ipad

please me on this! or @ least give me tips on how avoid in future!
