Is a male or female parakeet (budgie) better?

family wants pet budgie we've been reading online it's better male budgie. i've read lot of things saying males better, it's not people saying credible sources. credible sources people have had both male , female budgies , people have bird aviary. i've seen multiple bird aviary websites , gender doesn't make difference, need sell females, too. want know is, common misconception (like eating sugar causes diabetes) or people gender doesn't matter trying sell females? can knows give me honest answer?
