Question about slide guitar string gauges and string action?

can't recommend string height slide, depends on type of slide (weight in particular), neck scale, playing style, tuning , personal preferences.

higher action is, easier play slide. need heavier strings. how heavier depends on same factors above. heavier strings , higher action tend increase sustain , improve tone quite bit.

aware may have truss rod , intonation checked qualified tech if go in gauge. not attempt mess truss rod until absolutely sure of you're doing...

if want play both finger style , slide on same guitar, tend use set if 010 on fender style neck scale , possibly 011 on gibson type neck scale (which shorter fender). depends on tuning use.

on guitars set slide only, use heavier strings , have higher action.

i'm afraid way find these things out, test works best you. remember try different slide materials :-)
