Is it a design mistake to tile both a bathroom floor and counter?

working on designing upgrades bathroom. inspiration come sage green leaf pattern shower curtain. i'm wanting paint cabinets cream , have walls very subtle green. floor tile slate or dark stone. counters laminate , cut down on cost tile on i'm worried tile floor , tile shower (which cream) much. have idea different material or atleast idea of color? keep cool,calming, neutral colors- nothing loud.
