Could a 3D printer be used to create a 3D printer?

isn't stupid question @ all. answer yes, assuming printer capable of printing of own parts.

today there 3d printers can buy home use have *some* of parts made same printer, not of them.

won't possible print *all* parts until same printer can print solid metal, plastic, electronic components, etc. happen eventually, not while.

i realize may stupid question. but...could possible?
