@cantilena91 post, tremendously helpful. listen lot of classical , jazz these days, concerned soundstage, clarity, detail, balance throughout sound range...etc. problem max budget 100: classic case of dreams overshooting reality. know home theatre, nothing headphones, have no clue whats blongblingin brand , whats cheap , whats quality. post helpful. questions you:

eyeballing pair of beyerdynamic dtx101 ($80) , dtx 71 ($60) pair of etymotics something-or-others ($50)... think these decent?

had never heard of these brands before, whathifi , purchasers on amazon gave acceptable reviews.

i budgeting 40-60 plus tax pair of decent in-ear headphones. problem have never heard of brands have no clue i'm looking at.
