use other nuts want, in proportion. however, think might hard , crunchy enjoyable in dessert that. pecans soft , that's part of appeal. walnuts, of course, similar in every way taste different. almonds might hard. hazelnuts have great taste bit hard. chopping 2 kinds smaller pieces help. peanuts, of course, strong. cashews good; have same kind of "mouth feel" pecans. macadamias nice rather bland , kind of expensive bury in pie.
