Question regarding f sharp minor key/ how to form dominant. .?

so, f# minor :
f#-g#-a-b-c#-d-e

, formula dominant 7th chord 1-3-5-b7

unless mistaken, there's 1 dominant chord in minor key, , it's @ degree vii.
e dominant : e-g#-b-d#.
that's why, if play other dominant chords on f# minor, won't sound good.

other 7th chords either minor 7th :
f#m7 : f#-a-c#-e

or maj7 :
amaj7 : a-c#-e-g#

or min/maj7 :
c#(m)maj7 : c#-e-g#-b

easy tip : once visualize notes in scale, in order build chords, play every second note (that's how build chords : using 3rds), 4 notes per chords. doing this, you'll automatically build chords sound ok in scale. 7th chords, different qualities, depending on note take tonic.
you'll have major or minor 3rd, 5 , flat 5, minor or major 7th. then, can identify them chord chart.
minor/major depending on 3rd
flat 5 if have b5th
major or minor 7th

combination of these 3 qualities give different chords.

note : if built dominant chord on v degree (c#), need e# (=f), not in scale.

that's why doesn't sound : create tension, needs resolve.

if want built dominant chord notes in f# scale, it's e dominant : e-g#-b-d#.

vth degree dominant when play major scale ;-)
when play major scale c-d-e-f-g-a-b, can harmonize follows :

cmaj7
dmin7
emin7
fmaj7
g7 (dominant)
amin7
bmin7(b5)

http://www.trueguitarist.com/harmonized-...

when harmonize minor scale :
cmin7
dmin7(b5)
ebmaj7
fmin7
gmin7
abmaj7
bb7 (dominant)

think confusion comes fact base on major scale.
if take close @ cmaj scale, notice has same notes amin.

now, i'm going write might complicate things bit, cmaj = amin (roughly speaking, that's not 100% correct, more enough @ beginning).

so, c major = minor (aeolian) scale (because have same notes in both scales, changes "point of view", if like), notice major = f# minor.
there transposing : c=>a (3 halfsteps down) , a=>f# (3 halfsteps down too)

, in major scale, can build :

amaj7
bmin7
c#min7
dmaj7
e7 (dominant)
f#min7
g#min7(b5)

, here, degree v (e7) dominant!

best advice when practicing chord theory : take piece of paper , pencil , write down notes, scales , build chords , carefully. time, you'll find out it's quite easy , logical!
(it started when friend told me "when play c major, play minor", couldn't explain me. spent several years looking explanations)

i know formula form dominant 7th chord 4-3-3
doesn't sound , it's not making sense right now.
please help.

thank you
