Should I get an iPhone or iPod?

ill able 1 gift christmas/my birthday since close 3 days apart. fine me wondering if should 4th generation ipod or iphone 4? gonna ipod couldnt see difference between iphone , ipod? how big price difference? mean can listen music on both obviously, want, have bad phone might have bought myself new 1 anyways. worried price difference mostly. im not sure how iphone 4 costs have up. there else should know differences? should buy?
