What condition will an airplane be if it fell and crashed into the water/sea?

should aircraft literally crash water,the result same crash land.
'plane disintegrate,there'd little chance of survivors.
in controlled landing,with undercarriage retracted , flaps used (a ditching) aircraft float long enough passengers evacuated.
there have been cases 'planes have remained afloat time,a r.a.f nimrod in north sea , boeing crash landed in hudson river.

will okay enough people inside plane survive , live in there while?
