Why does water freeze at 0°C and boil at 100°C ?

defined melting point of ice 0°c.

called lower fixed point

defined temperature of steam water boiling @ standard atmospheric pressure 100°c.

called upper fixed point.

yes °c did "get created" give these numbers.

in fahrenheit lower fixed point 32°f , upper fixed point 212°f

in kelvin 273 , 373 respectively.

what mean is, did degrees celsius (°c), created h20 freezes @ 0 , boils @ 100, or pure coincidence such 'user friendly' pair of numbers?
