yes. glass fiber (or fibre) thin strand of glass can used insulation, communication, , reinforcement being woven fabric materials including cloth , tape.
thin glass strong if pulled (in tension) large sheets of glass, brittle , broken if cut or bent. therefore coated or included in align or keep fluffy, etc.
fiberglass (or brand name fiberglas) combination of glass fibers in mat or cloth form soaked in resin hardens hold shape - glass strengthens object , resin protects glass
