Is taxation a government intervention?

think of way. if tax rate 1 hundred percent of produces, intervention?

if produced got taken off you, under threat of being imprisoned if don't pay, tax ... happen?

starters, you'd slave, wouldn't you? , there'd no incentive engage in productive activity, there? no. in fact worse useless, because cost work, , you'd no benefit mere taxation.

also, tax definition compulsory exaction. it's not voluntary. let's have $10 , want spend on meal. says "if don't agree give me half, i'll armed men come around place, grab you, , lock in cage." "agree" give them half. spend on killing shopkeepers in iraq or goatherds in afghanistan ("defence policy"), or paying farmers not produce stuff ("industry policy"), or attacking people consenting adult transactions ("consumer protection").

don't laugh, literally what's happening. in law , in fact, taxation not pay government-funded services because law, paying tax of provides *no* entitlement services. means taxation price pay not getting locked up.

question is, government intervention? yes is, isn't it? fact transaction not voluntary proves value else - meal - more highly government spent on.

means there question whether taxation provides net benefits society whole, government claims, or whether merely takes (owner/producer) , gives b (pet political favourite) in zero-sum process makes society whole poorer , more immoral.

, when ask apologists government interventions justify it, find assume tax benefits society whole, , never can demonstrate it's case of social benefit all, rather anti-social benefit privileged group @ expense of else.

example, take will's answer above. see how assumes tax benefits society whole? doesn't consider possibility, , glaringly obvious probability, power confiscate people's income used in way not benefit society equally, instead used corruptly parasitise others.

"governments great fiction tries live @ expense of else."
bastiat

of course, if will's assumptions correct, there no reason why tax rate should not 100%. argument founders on complete inability distinguish private public goods without self-contradiction.

i don't how whole taxation thing related government intervention.. can please explain me? let's take wal-mart hypermarket example.. if government have taxation intervention on walmart... happen?
