Opening my ipod early?

grandpa sending me ipod christmas, comes friday rather on actual christmas. know, have @ least 14 friends ipods broken or cracked because dropped on floor. worried family won't treat package correctly or dog eat , have fixed. family notorious having our pc fixed after 3 years of collecting dusk in corner. worried if gets broken won't fixed. know is, see no reason wait till christmas open it. need more reason why should open because technologically disadvantaged dad let me open damn thing before 1 of 2 little sisters, many friends, dog, dad, or other person throws **** across damn room not knowing is. , no, not trust them, many of things have been broken people listed above. please help.
