Planning a move to California in 2-3 years, how's my plan?

here is:

i'll graduating high school in 2014, while i'm still in school. i'll working, in total i'll have 20-30k in savings; realistically more 21-22k, cousins , brother in atlanta putting me through pretty jobs (they have great connections; banks , airports).

i've heard many people need car , traffic pretty horrible; in area i'm moving to. southern california; los angeles county, i'll have done , off check list pretty soon.

before think moving have job , home secured. essential, moving anywhere without stupid imo.

field (hopefully) in computers, programming, developing, 3d modeling, business, or type of creative job. but, we'll see what's available , job market in 2015 shooting best thought :).

have few questions:

best live in los angeles county young guys? looking @ orange county, i've here lot of horror stories. far, i've narrow down few places; santa monica, encino, woodland hills, calabasas, or sherman oaks. considering pasadena, i've heard it's full of gangs. i'm trying stay clear of type of community.

i'm looking place that's around age, 19 time move, that's not in "ghetto", kinda quiet, safe, , presentable , alive (although "alive" isn't i'd stress about). i'm aware prices pretty steep, $1,000 , up. i'm prepared that.

way, i'm not looking rent, although nothing comes about, i'll use until can better, don't want waste time or money. whereas @ same time financing home.
