Fuel pump in Dodge van-PLEASE HELP!!!!!?

hi,
have 2000 dodge grand caravan seems fuel pump dying. until 2 months ago, car ok. started make problems when tried start it, had bang hammer start it.
in last 2 weeks miracle happened , started every time without banging hammer, , looks nothing happen.

told me if tank full of less quarter, might cause act this.
true?
can't recall if tank more quarter when started every time, think not sure!

if car starts usual, should continue drive till dies or replace pump?

trying sell car anyway , trying avoid investing more moneys did it...this why debating between leaving till dies, or replace pump.

well, if replace pump buy used pump, new 1 costs 400 dollars , on top comes labor. great chance used 1 die well.

should based on experience???thank you
