Audio service is not running?

half of time when restart computer little speaker in corner has x in , says "audio service not running". gets annoying because have restart computer audio back. computer turns off , it's getting annoying. last time freaked out because wouldn't turn on! unplugged , plugged in everything! worked don't want become habit. parents' financial status @ moment hindering being able buy new computer, that's not solution... why crap happen?
