What are some good, inexpensive guitars?

absolutely try out yamaha fg700s @ $199. price, constructed solid spruce top guitar stays in tune , plays smoothly. can't expect more price. i've taught lessons 30+ years , that's best beginner guitar money.

fwiw, got daughter yamaha fg720s (next level fg700s) on ebay $170 including shipping , everything. new , sounds , plays amazing. $279 new, if around gently used one, option in budget well. it's same guitar fg700s trimmed out better fretboard binding , bit better wood on , sides.

in opinion though, yamaha best in price bracket.

i'm getting boyfriend guitar christmas. he's beginning learn how play, don't want drop lot of money if it's decides not continue it. thinking along price of 100 - 250? , known brand name.
