Railway Cancellation Rules?

booked ticket indian railways 4 people (all on same ticket) 2 got confirmed berth , other 2 on waiting list.
if cancel ticket now, 4 passengers treated waitlisted , hence lose rs 20 per passenger, or 2 confirmed passengers cancelled per confirmed berth cancellation rules , remaining 2 passengers (waitlisted) cancelled based on waitlisted berth cancellation rule ?

pls no speculative answers , appreciate if can answer knows correct rule
