Problem with iPod Touch 5th generation?

bought ipod touch 5th generation on black friday couple weeks ago, , awesome until morning when tried turn on. held down power button, , usual, apple icon appeared tiny script filled screen, covering apple icon, , started disappear, , screen went black , haven't been able turn on. plugged mac see if if connected itunes, nothing happened. didn't seem know ipod plugged in. have no idea wrong since it's literally brand new! think problem, , should do?
