If a giant meteor destroyed USA, what effects would it have on the world?

impactor of sufficient size destroy united states cast rest of world environmental catastrophe of unimaginable proportions. fires ignite on of western hemisphere debris original impact rained down. gust of wind puts mightiest hurricane shame circle world, knocking on in path. sun blotted out years come gigatons of dust thrown air.

don't know if humanity survive such apocalyptic nightmare. if did, our numbers severely reduced , our society in shambles. there no organized effort assist "hardest hit" disaster: hard hit.

yeah...it bad. really, bad.
