Bose home theater wiring issues...?

purchased home in den has in wall 191 virtually invisible speakers. unfortunately previous owner took reciever , sub woofer him, , having hard time figuring out need, in wires have exiting wall 5 colored rcas (grn, blue, blk, red, ylw). labeled previous owner "bose block tv." besides have coaxial cable labeled bose cable, blank orange wire , male rca labeled "bose rc." have no speaker wire visible.

in talking bose, have said can't other buying new system might work. best buy said cut rcas off expose speaker wire use usual speaker set up.

main question have issues powering speakers using non bose woofer , receiver , doing above "best buy" way? main concern doing dumb , rendering speakers useless and/or having go walls fix it. advice in advance.
