What's the best areas in America to visit if you've never been before?

more - sort of big-picture view. strip down each coast major population centers , major tourism. 1 new york, d.c, etc. other la, san francisco, etc. in eastern center chicago , call midwest - not lot of people go tourism, lots of farming , such. west of center rocky mountains , associated terrain. that's beautiful mountains, yellowstone, grand canyon, etc. south arizona , new mexico center of native american indian culture. there other fine places outside ranges, new orleans being one, that's kind of lay of land. there hundreds if not thousands of single spots on america can see things , have time - don't limit either.

what kinda areas suggest visit, i've never been before , love visit. need somewhere that's affordable still has lot offer in way of entertainment , cultural history.
