What is going on with my mustang?!?

i've got manual 1996 ford mustang gt. it's 4.6l (v8).

here symptoms:
i'm shifting gears, car "acts" doesn't have power go. guess best way describe it... is... runs it's out of gas.... gurlgles, , sputters go. it'll catch , run supposed after many rpm.

checked spark plugs , 1 of them fried (it looked if had hit it- black , 'hook' part crushed). replaced , it's continuously doing same thing... else be?

gas smells gas... i'm not sure if mixture off isn't right.
car savvy people, please me figure out, if can. happy answer questions.

i'm not due oil change yet, , else fine. gauges working properly... i'm @ loss.
