Is Muay Thai overrated?

seems general consensus in mma world muay thai superior else out there when comes striking.
hear time: "muay thai better boxing because have 8 weapons , in boxing have 2". in theory makes perfect sense, i'm not convinced.

in fight - mma, street, muay thai; used tool punch. fights start punch, , end 1 (even in muay thai matches, knockouts come punches).
punch can thrown quicker , more accurately other strike. kicks , knees might pack more power, lot slower throw , require lift 1 leg off ground (thereby compromising balance). harder learn.

i'm starting think boxing better... lot better. yes it's limited, gives sharp , highly focused set of skills.
went muay thai class couple of weeks ago , found hitting harder guys had been training more 6 months (i've been boxing 3 months). of them had decent kicks, out of 8 or 10 people in class, saw 2 punchers (i spoke them , found out cross-training in boxing).

don't doubt effectiveness of leg kicks, how practical techniques head kicks , flying knees?
, how effective thai clinch against wrestler (especially greco guy)?

don't bash me yet, see in mind , can't explain had go copy , paste story.
