start taking classes , auditioning can in area. companies invest lot of money in tv shows - they're going trust investment trained , experienced professionals, not off street. roles cast through talent agents , not open auditions. if thinking it's school play , put notice , can show audition - that's not how industry works.
professional acting business. people in make money, not reach dreams. , there lot of scams , ripoffs out there - have understand business end of things make sure people don't take advantage of you. things you'll need professional acting career:
* talent
* quality acting training/classes
* experience (on stage , in front of camera. @ first you'll have start low-to-no pay jobs)
* professional head shot
* professional acting resume
* acting reel (video of on-screen work if want work on tv/movies)
* licensed talent agent (good roles cast through talent agents - not open audition or websites)
* several well-developed monologues auditions
* member of actors union (sag-aftra screen actors) or @ least understanding of how unions work.
* understanding of business end of acting - entire casting process, players, type of work available in area, industry contracts, how best market talent agents , managers
* network of connections in industry
* auditions held.
* strong foundation , healthy ways cope stress of trying work professionally. need able handle rejection, competition , instability.
consider acting school/program - quality 1 requires audition in , has instructors strong reputations. school not improve skills, prepare industry well. plus it's way start network , make contacts essential finding out opportunities in industry.

how tv works casting director writes "breakdown" (description of role). breakdowns released talent agents , managers (not general public or actors). talent agents go through breakdowns , submit clients appropriate roles , work them auditions.
