Suggestions on europe travel - wanting to start in london?

there not point going around uk, except london. going london liverpool , manchester kind of going auckland hamilton , napier. you'll still able communicate english anywhere in europe, many europeans speak @ least english, may still face language difficulties. english common in north of europe (holland, germany , scandinavia), wouldn't let language barrier stop me visiting other countries since you'll still manage.

cheapest way travel fly between major cities or use public transport, that's awfully inconvenient. you'd have carry luggage on busses , trains between cities, , may restricted in destinations. therefore, best way travel rent car. price of rental cars varies season , car size, if it's traveling, you'd need small car , luggage. can expect pay 30-40 nzd per day car during winter , 40-50 nzd during summer. if you'll in europe quite while, may find cheaper buy cheap car, , sell dealer @ end of trip. if can afford rent/buy car, that's great, if not, you'll have make public transport.

destinations, depends on when you're going , how long. i'm going assume you're going during summer. if want go destinations listed, go it. however, suggest focus on 1 or 2 countries @ time (france , italy first, greece , turkey next year, spain , turkey , germany, austria, switzerland , croatia). must-see places in italy rome, florence, milan , venice. i'd recommend 3 days in each of these cities. in france, should spend 3 days in paris , week on french riviera (marseilles , nice). if this, still go london if start there, cross channel france, go italy , come london fly home. on way florence france, consider stopping briefly in pisa see tower. if have time left on afterwards, should see other bits , pieces of france , italy (i give list , can select sounds best you):

-1 day in bologna, italy
-1 day seeing both verona , padua in italy
-1 day seeing both ferrara , ravenna in italy
-2 days seeing san gimignano, siena , perugia in italy

-3 days in rouen, france (to see normandy)
-2 days in luxembourg
-1 day seeing both toulouse , nimes in france (there roman ruins in nimes)

i'd go loire valley , rest of italy first, go sounds best you. if you're not going during summer, leave out riviera (though visit next time you're in europe during summer).

suggestion-if want stick original schedule sounds good, too. however, if you're not going during summer, i'd leave out greece. enjoy trip :)

i know want fly new zealand london (suggested because there no language barrier)
