Why am I so 'protective' over my sport?

i've been playing high school girls tennis team while now, , love sport much, teammates/friends. share special bond , it's fun them. when large groups of other girls decide go out tennis team frustrated reason. know has right want try out , play, hate thought of changing have. feel it's that's special , exclusively mine , teammates'. feel girls walk meetings , act it's thing do, have audacity prance on in , join fun, when of have been dedicated , working hard long! idk if sound crazy or if else gets way 'their' sport. ever that?
