Anyone done a safari in South Africa?

there no safaris in south africa! excursions entry fee game park or game reserve visits standard rules , viewing regulations. don't expect bearers , fly swatters attend needs.
****edit*** after read other responses, tell me truth whether think safaris. staying in $150 usd per night lodge safari, being pampered , dressing dinner etc? don't think so, excursions game viewing in organized manner.

went kenya, hired driver , camp cook pitched tent etc., 7 day trip. produced map , discussed areas wanted go, based on available time. planning done me few months information gathered out of guide books , other printed information kenya , area. day before departed, cook , driver went purchase necessary food supplies , reviewed assignment. left nairobi @ 0500hrs in morning , followed main roads.
in viewing areas around masai mara , other areas, driver followed dirt roads , went off road nearer game or better photo opportunity. camped in designated regions, not in campgrounds. heard lions , hyenas during night within fifty meters our camp. jackals came visiting our camp site during each night, looking whatever casted away.
described modified safari no hunting, others presented day in park. maybe best option have because wouldn't want go kenya @ time either.
