Should I wash dirty fabric before sewing?

definitely. if dirt doesn't come out, you'll want figure out how cut around it. besides that, if there's ground in soil in fabric, of wind in machine, cause wear.

, many fabrics shrink @ least little when they're first washed. yes, please wash, cut.

i bought discount fabric since needed, on floor , got dirt on (probably why discounted). should wash first, or cut , sew it, wash if need use of dirty edge? i'm not sure what's best thing do.
