Computer monitor not getting signal?

replaced graphics card, monitor stayed dark , had "no signal" message on it. later, monitor did work when computer started in safe mode, , seemed working fine. then, in middle of game, game froze, after few seconds, monitor went dark , did no signal thing again. tried restarting computer few minutes later, after left off while monitor still says no signal. graphics card still connected though. also, know nothing computers, please go easy!
