Is the Chevy Spark a car worth buying?

plan on buying new car in springtime once spring/summer job starts up. since i'm 20 years old , focusing on odd jobs (my spring job doing maintenance pre-season work @ pool lifeguarding @ said pool come memorial day), jobs don't pay well. had planned on buying used car parents refuse let me odd reason (they think wouldn't safe). know dad can discount on chevy brand cars i'm going them. looking through site, can't notice chevy spark seems car work me , pricing - when take in potential discount. yet i've heard mixed things car, leads me wonder if it's worth going for? used go school , commute work or visiting friends (typically 4 miles both) occasional trips require highway driving. making right choice here?
