Why is there an analog and a digital type of RAM?

confident there no type of ram used on large scale analogue. problem signal representing information fed capacitor, noise come dominate , not stored reliably. however, analogue storage techniques exist. instance, hard drives analogue although doubt ever are. ccds apparently analogue though, that's closest thing analogue ram on large scale.

i'm not expert though. seems unlikely.

why there analog , digital type of ram?
