frankly, since musical instrument industry saturated , competitive, price tags don't lie - more costs, chances better is. unscientific rule of thumb 10% bump in quality every time double price. there's premium on having brand-name label, fender, on instrument.

squier, although fender's cheap-copy budget line, vintage modified , classic vibe series good. models in lines run in $300-350 range or , they'll pretty close in quality $500 standard fender. within lines, depends on - have various telecaster, stratocaster , jaguar versions, look, feel, , sound want. had vm jaguar bass @ 1 point , great instrument (i don't have anymore because guy offered me fretless acoustic bass worth twice money in trade).
