My daughter had her patella dislocated on her left knee. How to know if there are damaged ligaments, cartilage?

daughter had patella dislocated on left knee. while dancing heard sound , moved on knee, fell down on ground sitting, , saw knee cap moved left side of knee, shocked happened, went blank 3min. , when friends assisted send hospital, dislocated patella popped it's place on it's own. walked dorm felt numbness , tightness every time bends knee, swelling present. there not painful sensation, tightness , numbness every time bends injured knee. next day rested , placed cold compress on affected area.but swollen knee didn't make improvements, next day went hospital, doctor pressed knee , ask if painful, said no pain @ all, numbness , tightness when bending it. doctor have knee x-rayed , result okay. doctor said injury not serious, prescribed celecoxib pain , 2 other chinese medicine swelling etc...btw happens in china. doctor did'nt homecare treatment or further treatment knee support, or therapy, told it's not serious.
however, me mom, still worried whahappeneded , outcome of said patella dislocation. want ask how long tightness,numbnesss , swelling of knee last? , normal experience swelling after patella dislocation? how know if there damaged ligaments, cartilage of knee, symptoms? needs brace or knee support? there ant supplements speed healing process? advice can gave on this? should worry less or more? please us. thank much!
