Moving to California? Advice PLEASE?

i've been thinking of moving socal(maybe la) philly, maybe every since 9 years old, im 18 now. have few concerns. neighborhoods live in if have child?( know won't able live lavish don't wanna live in compton or somewhere that). dont plan on moving there next 5-7 years, im working right how should save up? know expensive want live comfortably. how jobs out there? pay more? plan on attending college next fall pre med graduate schools not hard in? nice towns or places live near la? please answer if live/lived in socal
