during day, there small aircraft (just speck in sky) flies across leaving white trail. flying @ high altitude. ideas kind of aircraft might be?

i'm curious. happen live somewhere commercial jets flies across in same direction every day i've watch them, , can see them clearly, fly low enough tell how many engines have, lol. never leave white trail though.
