What could this pain in my chest?

hi, when doing daily activities, sharp pain in chest. between breast feel , @ side @ bottom of ribcage. stops me doing , have freeze (embarrassing in public places -.-) have breathe in pain go away unbearable , have breathe out again. carry on doing until can breathe way in without feeling sudden sharp pain. worries mum keeps thinking having heart attack when clutch chest , gasp in pain. pain come if sitting down not doing or casually walking. other horrible times, comes when lying down , can't sit breathing thing rid of pain difficult doing when lying down. know be? i've had 2-4 years not sure. oh btw, occurs on left side of body (very on right side).
