How do I find the minor scale of a major scale (for Bb clarinet)?
depends on kind of minor scale playing.
there 3: natural, harmonic, , melodic.
natural minor, take major scale, , lower 3rd, 6th, , 7th pitches half step. example, c natural minor scale have e, a, , b lowered eb, ab, , bb.
harmonic minor, flat both 3rd , 6th pitches, leave else is. c harmonic minor scale c d eb f g ab b(natural) c
melodic minor scale unique of 3, differs whether playing or down scale. going up, note different 3rd. have eb. other notes remain same major scale. on way down, however, scale becomes same natural minor. instead of eb, have eb, ab, , bb.
hope answers question :)
