Canada: why aren't the Inuit in the arctic regions of northern Canada considered First Nations?


that's asking why japanese aren't considered chinese.
-because they're not same.

canadian federal government's website stuff:

"aboriginal peoples" collective name original peoples of north america , descendants. canadian constitution recognizes 3 groups of aboriginal people: indians (commonly referred first nations), métis , inuit. these 3 distinct peoples unique histories, languages, cultural practices , spiritual beliefs.
