Why do humans still kill and eat animals when there is so much other form of vegetation to eat?
me issue of vegetarianism biologic. first, @ our teeth , our biology tell omnivores. have both molars grinding vegetation , incisors , canines tearing meat. however, argument not allow evolution. in wild, when population discovers new food sources can them sustain larger populations they, generation generation, evolve better process food source. can either in addition previous food source or specialize in new food source. of interest because theoretically humans guide evolution toward herbivorism (forgive word invention).
final question becomes, food source allow largest population? answer diet herbaceous omnivorous options. if @ ecosystems biomass autotrophs (or things make own food, argument plants). plants support next trophic levels, heterotrophs (things need eat). act of eating results in net gain of 10% of energy of previous level. boils down fact have eat more meat same amount of energy smaller amounts of plants. each individual requiring more food results smaller population. (keeping omnivorous options population not become dependent on 1 food source.)
of this, why humans still kill , eat animals when there other form of vegetation eat? a. because people don't believe in evolution , b. because dey tasty!
