Hissing sound coming from near gas and break pedals on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

have 2000 jeep grand cherokee started making hissing/air leaking sound near gas , break pedals. noticed this morning when started before work. sound happens when not pressing either gas or break pedal, when press down on either sound goes away until let off pedal. cant seem find out coming gas , break pedals.
